As with the Rebit 500, the software loads automatically, installing a program that loads and stays in the taskbar on your Windows XP or Vista PC. Seagate's Replica Backup software is built around the same engine as the Rebit 500 backup drive, but all the support and branding is Seagate's. ![]() For my money, the extra space in the $200 version is worth the money, even if you use the drive with only one PC. The multi-PC version comes with a docking station that stands the drive upright, but the rubberized backing on the drive will ensure that even the dockless single-PC version is secure on your desk. The Replica is available in either a 250GB single-user version for $130 or the tested 500GB multi-PC version for $200.
